Our Story

Welcome to Saucy Revolutionary!

I am Patricia and together with my husband Doug we would like to be your tour guides through your vegan plant-based journey, while using our informative website! Doug and I will share our individual stories regarding what led us to eating plant-based below, but first, here’s why we created Saucy Revolutionary.

Saucy Revolutionary was built due to our passion to share information and what we’ve learned with the many friends and family members who have inquired about our experiences giving up animal products. Doug and I were at a place in life where we wanted to start a new adventure, and decided that in addition to discussing what we have encountered eating a plant-based diet, we also wanted to explore and tell others about vegan restaurants, food options in our area, as well as throughout the United States and other parts of the world. Hence, there is a travel element to Saucy Revolutionary!

The name Saucy Revolutionary was born out of a desire to reflect who we are as people in our own plant-based voyage. The word “saucy” is indicative of Doug and I being saucy individuals in our opinions and personalities, as well as “saucy” in the kitchen, where we prepare fabulous vegan plant-based cuisine! While the word “saucy” is meant to serve as a double entendre, “revolutionary” stands firm in one meaning. Although we are living in a time where being vegan and eating plant-based food is more prevalent than ever, the truth is it is not ubiquitous, and to many people it is a revolutionary concept. As odd as it may seem, there are many out there who still don’t understand that there is no difference between eating a cow, pig, lamb, fish, or chicken and their beloved cat or dog (which sadly are also eaten in many countries). A revolution means to provoke an extensive and dramatic change in the ways things have always worked and people's ideas about it. And being a revolutionary, means to incite significant change!

To forgo eating animal products is a considerable shift from how many of us grew up, and to many it’s even viewed as a radical decision. However, I am confident that most of us do have one dietary reality in common—we can still hear the resounding, nagging sound in the voice of a parent or adult feeding us as children, telling us to eat our fruits and vegetables!

So here we are in this vital moment in time, with a planet in crisis and millions of animals being senselessly tortured and killed every day, that we propose heeding the advice of our former elders and eating those fruits and vegetables! We now know that the many adults who told us it was the best thing for our health were not wrong!

Our goal at Saucy Revolutionary is that we can be helpful to anyone out there embarking on shifting their food pyramid to no longer include animal products. We hope that by making a commitment to not harming innocent, satient animals, bettering the earth’s environment, and improving personal health, that you will feel empowered and join us in our revolution!

Here at Saucy Revolutionary we would like our Revolutionary’s mantra to be:

“For the animals, our planet, and our health!”

Wishing you many blessings,

Patricia & Doug

ABOUT
Patricia

Like everything in life, you have to find your way. I have been vegan for about ten years now and my journey has not been a straight line, but a windy road. I am glad to be where I am now, as I feel enlightened and have a powerful purpose to keep improving and to do whatever I can to help animals, the planet, and other individuals on their plant-based quest.

ABOUT
Doug

I believe we’re heading in the right direction, the process is slow and meets much resistance at every step. But patience is key. Phasing out what I started to feel was wrong and no longer served me, no matter how long it took, ultimately took me to where I am now.
